It's that time again -- th Wkndr!
Today, in things-I-won't-be-going-to-because-I-have-four-birthday-parties-and-also-work, BEER MANSION.
First off, what a name for a beer festival! It evokes parlor games and long, elaborate dresses. And then also frat guys throwing up and keg stands. But it's actually in a mansion! Here's the website for the venue. That is FANCY. I'm sad I'm missing this, actually. I love beer and hanging out near velvet drapes.
I was going to write more, but I think TimeOut's summary says it all:
"Hops lovers can sample more than 30 local pours at this epic fest—including varieties from Fifth Hammer Brewing, Transmitter Brewing and Brooklyn Brewery—while a lineup of bands curated by Captured Tracks rocks out. Stay sober with bites from local faves like the Meatball Shop and Pig Beach and, depending on how many pints you have, try your hand at the on-site augmented-reality or cornhole games."
I've included a picture of cornholing, for those who didn't go to a southern school with a heavy Greek-life component (although maybe cornhole is a thing elsewhere too? Please advise).
And let's keep this music thing going! I'm very tempted to link to that awful Kesha song from my college days, because WAKE UP IN THE MORNING SOMETHING SOMETHING JAGER pairs well with cornhole. But I'll spare your ears and instead sharing a song about VELVET because velvet is fancy, by the band I'm seeing tonight, U.S. Girls. Have a great wknd, everyone!
